Requirements for Marriage License

Fee of $37.00 payable in exact cash, money order, cashier's check, or credit card (ID required, $1 credit fee).
Both parties must be present at the time of application.
Both parties must submit proof of age in form of valid drivers license, passport, or state issued ID.
Both parties must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. If either party is under twenty-one (21), both parents or legal guardians must be present at the time of application and present a photo ID. Legal guardians must provide a certified copy of court order appointing legal guardian. A parental consent from can be signed in front of a Notary Public if parents are unable to appear in person.
Marriage Ceremony. Applicants are responsible for making arrangements with a licensed minister, or other authorized official, to perform the marriage ceremony.

Blood work is not required. There is no waiting period and once the license is issued it is good forever and does not expire.

Copies of Marriage License

The Circuit Clerks Office has marriage records available from 1821 through current date in the Circuit Clerks Office. These records have been scanned into the computer system for easy access and to help with preserving the marriage license books due to their age. Copies of license may be obtained for a fee of $2.00 if you pick the license up in the office or for $3.00 if it is mailed to you.

In order to obtain a copy of a license please send the complete name of the bride and groom along with the date of the marriage and payment to the Circuit Clerks Office at PO Box 843, Aberdeen, MS 39730.
